Can anyone tell me if a Hamilton 17j grade 987 movement is any good, rare,common?

I have repaired several of these in the last few months and have found them to be a quailty movement and i think easier to repair than most pocket watch movement,s..

Tom Huberbrian, I agree with Sammy. The 987 and its variations are great movements. They were common and used from the beginning up into the late 1940's.

"Production ran from 1926 to 1948, in several slight variations... A total of 1,160,392 were produced." That's a bunch of movements!
