Rolex Help "Click" to Login or Register
posted
First, let me say I not a wristwatch guy. However, I have a friend's watch in front of me and I need some help. It is stainless steel, with a Rolex SS band with a deployant? buckle. The dial is marked:Rolex, Oyster Perpetual, Air-King above the center post. Below the post is Precision. It has a sweep second hand and the dial is a silver color. There is no writing on the back, but on one end of the case below the bezel are the words "registered design". I don't know the jewel count, because I don't know how to open the watch. It runs, but needs a new crystal and a good cleaning. Any information about this model would be appreciated.

Jerry,
firstly, you need a special tool to open the back of Rolex watches.
The Rolex Air King Precision tends to be on the lower end of Rolex models.
From your description it could be worth around $600.00 - $800.00 in running condtion.

Depending on the year it could have a 17J movement.
Can you see the serial number, it's located between the lugs.
If you can find this, then you can look up the year of manufacture.

Just be aware the cost to replace the crystal and service the watch
(even by a non Rolex Certified watch repair service) will most likely
run around $200.00 - $250.00.

If you have any pictures that would help a bit.
