I have been looking through the junk box again and found this Bulova Micro Rotor. Granted not the most wonderful looking watch however you simply do not see many examples. When I came across it, it was disassembled. I don’t remember when I got it but am sure it was in pieces when I got it. I finished it up this morning and took some pictures to share. Lets see how many of us have a Bulova Micro Rotor automatics.

Rich, great job, looks great, never saw a Bulova like that one before.

These are nice watches.I think the movement is by Buren who was at one time owned by Hamilton.Many of the parts will interchange and lots of time the only place to find parts for some of the Hamiltons is in a Bulova Automatic parts cabinet.

I agree with Julian on the Buren movement. One of my Hamilton Thin-O-matics by buren has a like movement, only mine is 17J.

Thank you all for the comments. To Julian and Tom the movement is most certainly made by Burean. Many parts will interchange with the Hamilton. I believe that Hamilton did not count the jewels in the self-wind side of the watch. I have had a few Hamilton’s that were not jeweled in the self-wind area as well. The Bolova movement is one of Buren’s earlier micro rotors. The later versions most of the parts will not interchange.
The date mechanism is different and those parts will not work on the Hamilton’s I have seen.
Lin I really don’t know how much it is worth. As I said you do not see these often. In the last 5 years I have only seen one other. It was a customers watch and in considerably worse shape than this one. I have not unpacked my books yet though I doubt this would be in it. Even if it were the price would probably not take in to account the scarcity. One of the reasons so many Bulova parts systems still have parts is that Bulova simply did not sell a lot of these watches.

This watch is very similar to a 30J Bulova Ambassador that I had about ten years ago.
