Much as I dislike any watch that requires a battery ,this is a very interesting article from the British journal for the history of science. It is in PDF (Adobe reader ) file form, 23 pages with photos of some of the early prototypes as well. This link opens directly to the PDF and not a menu , if you have a slow connection it might take a minute to load after you click the link but otherwise it will be almost instant. You should also be able to right click on the link and save it directly to your HD if you wish.
