Does anyone know or have you ever changed a battery in an Eco drive watch. One of my personal watches is a chronograph example and it stopped on me so I removed the back cover and it looks like the battery is buried in the movement, so much so I didnt want to go in blind and loose something trying to take it apart.

Rob,

The cells only last a few years then need changing I get a good number of these in, the capacitors are not cheap $13-$20 ea typically so far more expensive that a normal qtz watch cell and you have seen you need to remove the weight and a plate to replace it.
Send it over if you want will change it at cost for you.
