Tom BrownAny Idea as to Name of this Bulova?
Picked up this nice 21 jewel Bulova, it was not running & upon opening it up it was very dirty. After a COA it seems to be running fine, I am going to wear it for a few days to see. It could use a new crystal but I am having the worst luck finding crystals to fit these Bulovas without knowing some name for the watch. I tried the name Fred but that doesn't seem to help.
Anyway, I also was wondering about the band & how it attaches to the watch, I have never had a watch like this. The band is marked gold filled but I would swear it is made of aluminium or some light weight metal.
From the * shape on the movement I am guessing this was made in 1941.

Stephen RobinsonThat's not a million miles away from this one I own:
I assumed the chunky mesh strap was original, but yours looks more in keeping to the connection, so maybe it's not
No idea what model name though. Although often you see them without the orginal straps, which doesn't look to good to be honest, but when the strap wears out just what to do?

Tom BrownStephen
I like the black dial on your, do you know if it has the same movement?
I wondered also what you would do when the strap wore out too, I am not even sure how you remove it.
Do you think these are form the 40's, I had noticed on another site that Bulova used the * mark in both 1924 & 1941 so I guessed 41.

Stephen OllmanTom, it's certainly from 1941. I'll check my vintage Bulova ads tonight to see if I can find the model name.
Stephen.

Tom BrownThanks Stephen.
I can't tell in the ad which one is mine, could you tell me what is has printed under the watch, is it in English?
Also, I always go to your site when I am trying to figure out a Bulova. Do you still want photos of watches for your pages? I have four different Bulova's in case you are interested in photos of them
