Stephanie O'NeilPanerai wristwatch
Has anyone heard of Panerai wristwatches? Saw one today on ebay with a starting bid of $11,500. Was listed as vintage, maybe 1970's. Just wondering!!!

Dave FreemanStephanie,
yes Panerai watches have been around for about 140 years. They were originally founded in Florence Italy by Guido Panerai & Figlio. They became a supplier of timepieces to the Italian Navy. They developed some very unique looking , and very rugged watches which have now become extremely fashionable. Today they produce high qulaity, waterproof watches, most of which have their patented crown locking mechanism. Current prices for their new models run anywhere between $3K - $12K.
Panerai watches have developed alkmost a "cult like" following.
