I am looking for a sears roebuck dial on this site but was wondering if a 18s 17j sears roebuck special would or could have a Illinois ds dial. Could the buyer choose an Illinois dial rather than the sears dial?

I can't positively answer your question, but I would think that since Sears sold their watches through a catalog, with their name on it, that you couldn't request a dial with Illinois on it. It wasn't like buying a watch from a jeweler.
