Hi John,

According to the Illinois Production Listings in the "Illinois Encyclopedia" your 3857121 is a Lever-Set, Open-Face, 21-Jewel, Model 9 Bunn Special from 1921 production. The "Model 9" and "1921" are probably the most important factors in your mainspring situation. Bottom line, yours would be the "40-Hour" and not "60-Hour" as that did not start until 1924 production.

Perhaps someone else can help with more specifics.

Hi Lindell,
Thanks for your help. This particular watch had a name and a date on the inside back of the case 1924. Whether it is a birthday or purchase date I'll never know.
Cheers, John
