Theodore J. Brown Sr.A. Lincoln 16s question
I have seen over the years on auctions, 16s A. Lincoln's in first-model Bunn Special cases.I realize that those are in-correct recase jobs.Did Illinois ever offer factory cased and marked 16s Lincoln's?I have only seen ads for the Lincoln railroad grades for sale as a movement only, but have seen the first model style B.S. case used on Sangamo Specials too, so that's why I wondered. Thanks, Ted.

Illinois never made an "A. Lincoln" 16 size marked case- They only made "Bunn Special" and "Sangamo Special" Marked cases in 16 size-. They may have cased a few 12 size A. Lincolns but I have never seen one marked as such.
Any Sangamo Special in a Bunn Special case would be wrong- there is a
Sangamo Special 193 case that does resemble a 1st model Bunn Special case though. It is difficult to find.
