Illinois factory display cases
I'm wondering what the time frame would be that the nickel Illinois factory glass back display cases were in daily use in jewelry stores. I have one that has the coin edge case frame and the plain bezel and back marked simply Illinois Watch Co. 1910s? 1920s? Hope someome can offer some insight.

Interesting question!

My feeling is the nickel cases were used mostly from the 1890s until the 1920s when factory cased movements became the industry norm. Those Illinois cases with knurled or '"coined" edge are somewhat earlier than the plainer ones.

Also, on 16-size observe the "Lever-Cut" position to match a particular movement.
