The 3cm (1.2 inch) super macro mode on the Olympus C-750 Ultra Zoom is great for macro shots.

In the attached picture of a clock dial, the actual size of the words "Made in Great Britain" are about the size of serial numbers on pocket watches. Shot was taken in Auto Focus super macro mode with no special lighting setup.
