U.S. Railroads in WWII
I have always enjoyed owning my 1941 vintage 23 Jewel Waltham Vanguard. Now, I may have acquired a carbine to go w/it. The story is that this little carbine was issued by a railroad in WWII because of Govt. orders that the railroads had to post an armed guard at either end of each railroad bridge. Is it true that each railroad bridge had to be guarded at that time?

Thanks,
Greg

I know that the tunnel at Cowan, Tennessee had that requirement.

I,too, throughly enjoy my Vangard, though mine is a bit older. 1937 to be exact. Wink
