The great car train race "Click" to Login or Register
posted
About 1955 or 56 comming back from Ardmore Ok. on old highway 77 with my mother I got bored and flopped down in the back seat and took a nap. Some time later I awoke to the loud clattering of that old 1952 chevy 6 cyl babbit beater, raising up I saw the passenger train, I believe they called it the Texas Chief, looked over her shoulder and the spedo was nudging 90 mph. Caught my mother racing that darned train. The train was slowly pulling away when I finally said something, she let off the accelerator and gave that old chevy some relief and I went back to my nap.
