When to replace braided weight cable? "Click" to Login or Register

I'm overhauling a Client's Hermle 415-003 Chiming movement. While disassembling the main wheel drums, I noticed the strike brass cable has two broken strands. Obviously, this is a many stranded cable. What is the consensus...replace if any strands are broken?

Your advise is always appreciated.

I would. Cable is cheap compared to the loss that can occur if it breaks.
