Larger spring on Time or Strike? "Click" to Login or Register

I have a mechanism from an Ithaca tall case clock that I disassembled for cleaning. I am not sure which spring goes on which side. I usually mark them when I take them off the arbor, but must have missed this important detail this time. Does anyone know which side takes the larger spring?
Thanks,
Jonathon

Hi Eddie, Thanks for your reply. I guessed that too and tried it that way. After seeing it run I don’t think the weaker spring would drive the chiming side very well. Thanks again for the help. Jon
