Paul M. EscudeUrgos movement with levers
our clock has an Urgos movement in it. it has levers on the back of the movement you could tie strings to, and hook the ends of the strings on. what do these 3 levers do. thanks paul

Michael CherryPaul, they should pull the chime and strike hammers away from the chime rods so that the clock will still run and both chime and strike gears will work but will not cause the hammers to hit the rods.

Tom ChaudoirMike gave one good answer. I have also seen string pulled levers that were meant to correct the chime and strike sequence if it was off, and others that simply repeated the last chime or strike if you wanted to hear it again for some reason.
I guess the bottom line is: Pull the strings and find out. My money is on the correction angle.
Best,
Tom
