Seth Thomas 124 Mantel clock 15 minutes off chiming

I know what to do if the minute hand is off 30 minutes (reverse the hand on the shaft). How do I correct the clock from chiming the wrong number of chimes by 15 minutes?
Thank you!
John

Found this in a search.
"You can always resync by backing up the hand, and tripping the chime until on the right 1/4."

You should be able to take off the minute hand, and then remount it in the right place for all the chimes to work properly.

What Dave posted is what I've had to do with clocks having quarter hour Westminster chimes.

It worked for me.
