urgos UW 03011A Grandfater movement Question "Click" to Login or Register
posted
I an working on a n Urgos cable driven movement. The movement has been ultrasonically cleaned, bushing work done to the quarter hour train, and reassembled. All seems well except that it lacks amplitude and is running at 3668 rather than the 3600 bph that it should be at. Could this be from an incorrect suspension spring? I have no way of knowing what the original spring would be.

Sounds like you might just have the wrong suspension spring. A stiffer spring would reduce the amplitude and also increase the speed, I think!

Timesavers has some Urgos springs.

Have you tried adjusting the pendulum?
