Larry BuchanPostcard photo of Canadian National Railways semi-streamlined U-1-f 6000's "Mountain" type 4-8-2's built by the Montréal Locomotive Works, of Montréal, Québec in the 1940s, This is shows the Mountain locomotive on the head end of a passenger train running through Woodstock, Ontario in the 1950s. CNR had 79 of these locomotives on their roster and started using them in 1923, the originals were built by the Canadian Locomotive Company, the last order of 20 semi-streamlined locomotives was made in 1944. Only five survived today, and only one is in running condition, although out of service this year for some repairs, it is CN 6060 (known as bullet nose Betty) and runs summer tourist steam excursions between Stetler, and Big Valley, Alberta.
