Here is an 18k (Eagle Marked) case housing an 1864 (Civil War) Appleton, Tracy & Co. keywind movement. Mr. Brown worked for the Atlantic & Great Western Railway that began in 1860 and merged with the New York, Pennsylvania & Ohio Railway in 1880. The railroad eventually became part of the Erie railroad, then the Erie-Lackawanna until Conrail took it over. It was then dissolved into the Norfolk-Southern and CSX Transportation. This was apparently Mr. Brown's retirement watch and all I know about it's background.
