Hi I have never used one, but it is a pivot lathe or also known as a Jacot tool, there are normally a few more parts that go with it. Tom

From the "Watch Makers Repair Manual" by H. Fried it states; "The tool is known to English-speaking watchmakers as the "Jacot" tool. This tool undoubtedly offers one the very best methods of reducing or polishing pivots to size & shape."

Tom, thanks for your help! Now, with the name of the tool, it's easy to find information on the net. Even a movie: www.tp178.com/jd/watch-school/3/MOV00017.mpg Göran
