I won what was called a "Universal Pocket Watch Key" on eBay and would like to know if 1.) It is one? 2.) How does it work. See the auction picture below. Thank you! Sheila

Since I soaked and cleaned the key, the small part in the middle moves up and down now, so I think I know how it works. It didn't move before the cleaning, and now it moves fine. I have not used it yet, but with the center piece moving, and with some practice, I may be able to get it to work. I could really use one for all of my watches that have no keys. Sheila

Sheila, LaRose sells sets of these, http://www.slarose.com/cgi-bin/slarose/081517.html Also, they(sets) can be found on e-Bay for even less. I have an old universal key, but it's too easy to slip, so I use my LaRose set. Sam Williamson

Hi Sam, Thank you, and Yes, I have those keys too, I thought this one was unique, and for the same reason you mentioned above, I have not tried it yet. I was worried that it would mess up the movement too. Just a nice piece of Old watch "Stuff" I have quite a few small watch "Stuffs" I was going to put together in something, maybe a frame or something, so I guess this one will go into that group, and not in the "Use It" group. Thanks for the warning, I was concerned. Cleaned up nice though! Nice and shiny now! Sheila
