Ed, It was Saturday morning (this morning) at the VFW Hall between Ilion and Franfort on Acme St. Widay was the auctioneer. I went right up to $350., and it sold to the other guy for $375., plus the 10% premium. On the drive back to Altamont I kept thinking I should have gone a bit higher. Oh well, this one got away. On the way back, though, I kept wondering whether it was you I was bidding against. Do you already have a lathe?

I did not know of the auction. If they had advertised it better I would have attended it!
Where did you see the advertisement for it?

Ed, a friend of mine found it somewhere on the internet and told me about it. What was nice about the lathe was it had a micrometer type cross slide for slowly moving the cutter in or out, and left and right. I think that was an expensive item and probably drove the price higher.

The compound cross slide alone if good would easily sale for 250.00 if a good brand i have seen them sale for 400.00 ..At 375.00 a good buy.

Well, we know now what the buyer of this Boley lathe was after. It is now on eBay minus the cross-slide. Below is the URL to the auction.
