John C. Dueber RR watch question
Hi.Thanks to this new Hampden forum and the great ads posted by Mr. Romero, I just learned something new, at least to me.I knew about the 21jewel John c. Dueber, but some of those ads list a 17J also ,16s. According to Ehrhardt and the Hampden book, they were made, also 4th model lever set. This is news to me.Has anyone seen one? They aren't pictured anywhere that I can find.Must be at least a little on the rare side.I wonder if it has the same fine finish and Dueber signature as the 21J version? Thanks! Ted.

Ted,

I just seen a picture of a 16s Hampden 17j John C. Dueber today. I'll e-mail it to you. The 17j looks similar to the 21j below except it doesn't have the gold gilt screws, raised jewel settings, or the big gold balance cap jewel setting like the 21j. The 21j has a gold center wheel the 17j doesn't. It has the same damaskening and writing except the 21 jewels vs. 17 jewels. From what I could find the 17j had a run of 1500 movements from 2,463,001-2,264,500. The 21 jewel had two runs of 500 from 2,464,501-2,465,000 then 2,466,001-2,466,500.

Agreed. A nice Dueber is on my wish list right now.
