I have a question that I really doubt anyone would have an answer to, but here it is anyway.I have always wondered what watch a guy like C.T. Higginbotham, who was the superintendent of South Bend, would have carried himself. He was obviously one of the greatest watchmakers that ever lived, and had previously worked for Seth Thomas and New York, so I bet he had quite an arsenal of watches to choose from.My guess is that he had a 329 Studebaker on one end of the chain, and a Polaris on the other!Anyone have any idea? Thank you, Ted.

Good assessment Ted!

We owe so much to these giants of the watch industry.

Resurrecting an old thread because a watch given to one of his peers, H.B. Patche recently surfaced at auction. According to the listing, H.B. was the foreman at the South Bend Watch Company. The watch was a Polaris.
