South Bend 292 Adjustment Location

I was looking at photos of two different South Bend 292 Watches. I noticed that one has the word "ADJUSTED" located on what appears to be the Pillar plate. The other one, from an earlier run, has the word "ADJUSTED" located on the Balance Bridge. Anybody got any ideas? Did South Bend change the location on later run watches. Both are 'model one' according to the Serial Number Data Base.

Most examples of the Grade 292 will be like Frank's number 440774 as depicted in your upper image with wavy damaskeening and "Adjusted" positioned on the balance bridge. Later-on, the 292 was redesigned to have a "waffle" or "criss-cross" style damaskeening and "Adjusted" was moved to the pillar-plate location as found on the second image you shared.

An unusual example of the later design is found on number 511699 as shown below this post. A closer examination reveals it is a MARKED 292 which makes it extremely uncommon. Obviously factory work, it would be interesting to know if any others have survived. A few years ago one well known South-Bend "expert" doubted its existence.
