Have an old hinged wristwatch case that is very rusty on the inside. What would be the best way to clean it enough to be able to read any lettering or numbering that may be found. The movement is also very rusty but the name Maurice Cattin can be clearly seen. Also marked as having 15 Jewels, 2 adjustment and Swiss. Thing is rusty. What's the first step? Kinda new at this..... Hi Alan, There have been suggestions made about using both alum and tea for rust removal. Click these words: "Find-Or-Search" for "Rust" in this forum. See what you think, Lindell | |||
