WARNING MASSIVE MAINSPRING SHORTAGE LOOMING
I just want all of you to know that the ONLY manufacturer of mainsprings for American and vintage Swiss watches has stopped production. The accountants have decided that it was not worth the effort. Negotiations are in the process with another manufacturer, but if this falls through the situation will only worsen. A month ago I ordered a common Hamilton mainspring for a 917. It was back ordered. Borel and Casker indicated that they were having trouble getting American springs and did not know when they would have stock. Chances are that they will not have stock for a long time if ever. If you have old springs, hang on to them. This includes old Swiss springs. Additionally, if you are having problems getting a particular spring, post it in the "items wanted section" and we can all dig around in our stocks to help eachother out.

Finally, if they start production of springs again, they will be expensive. Say goodbye to $10 whitealloy springs.
