Hamilton 500 Question "Click" to Login or Register

I guess this should be asked in the watch repair section but .

which battery does the hamilton 500 movement take and where can these be bought,,also what problems could i run into doing this..The movement is in a Hamilton Van Horn ca. 1957..

This is a frist for me never tackled one of these before..

The original cell for the Hamilton 500 is no longer made.If you have a assortment of cells,start with a 395 or 386 and go from there.
I know there is one recomended cell,but I can't think of it now.

The Hamilton 500 and 500A Use an Everready 387S. Just be very careful not to touch the exposed contact wires inside. Batteries should be installed positive pole up.

Thanks Julian and Mike I took a look at Rene Rondeau,s site (great info.) ..sounds like these are a very delicate movement.... Smile
