Hello, In an effort to familiarize myself with some watch complications, I have examined the calendar mechanism of a Swiss watch (an automatic, yet), and I was wondering about the names of the calendar-related parts. It is a simple date-only calendar ("1, 2, 3, ... 31") dating from probably the 1960s. It is marked Nicolet Watch Company and "OBL" or "QBL." Here are my specific questions: 1. What is the "date wheel" called? ("Date wheel," no doubt...) 2. The date wheel is held in place by a semi-circular, or "C"-shaped bridge or lip; what is that called? 3. Above the hour wheel, and integral to it, is an additional, smaller wheel that rotates with the hour wheel, once an hour, and meshes with another wheel to move the date; what is the name of that upper part of the hour wheel? 4. The above-mentioned wheel meshes with another wheel geared so that it rotates once every 24 hours, thereby tripping the date change; what is the name of this wheel? 5. Beneath and integral to the above wheel is a snail that trips a lever once a day to move the date wheel; what is the snail piece called? 6. The snail piece moves a spring-actuated lever that has a small tooth that acts upon the teeth of the date wheel to push it once a day; what is the name of this lever? ... and finally: 7. There is another spring-actuated lever that serves to act as a brake, allowing only one day at a time to advance; what is the name of that lever? Sorry for all the questions; I do want to learn the correct terms (or acceptable terms) for these parts. The mechanism is simple, yet quite interesting. Thanks, Pete

Julian, Scott, and others, Thanks very much. I saw that J. Borel was offering the Bestfits for about the same price. Question: Do you think $75 is a good price for these catalogs? Thanks, Pete
