Illinois 3/0s jewel removal question "Click" to Login or Register

Hi,
How are the balance cock jewels removed on the 3/0 size 4th model Illinois? There are no screws that hold the settings in from either the top or bottom of the cock. Is this a friction fit where they have to be pushed out?

Mike,
these are friction set jewels. They push in from the inside. They push out from the outside. For the bridge, select a flat face staking punch that will go in the hole and seat on the jewel setting. Not the jewel itself.place the bridge on a piece of pithwood, press with the punch and see if they don't come out together.
I might not explain this correctly so ask any questions you have

Thanks Julian, I had never seen this before since I usually work on pocketwatches.
