"Jeweler marks" What Do they mean?
I spent the last couple hours under a lamp analyezing the Jeweler marks in the cases of the watches I have hanging about. I know there is no standard code to these markings but would anybody care to share interesting markings they have found and thoughts on the different code systems used?

I'm not positive if the are called jeweler marks, so I thought I would further explain. I am referring to the etchings left in the back of a watch case by the watchmaker who last serviced it. According to my aunt, my grand father put his initials, EY, with a log book number to the left and the year to the right. Anyone else know of different systems used? Or even what these marking are called?
