Advice Please - Removing a movement from its case
To change the dial on an Elgin convertible, I am having difficulty trying to remove the movement from the case.

I have unscrewed the three case screws and while the movement is now free and tips out, it refuses to slide smoothly off the stem. The movement is lever set so I assume that the stem is not intended to pull out to release the movement - or is it?

It may be dirt or rust on the stem, but I also thought that maybe I also have to unscrew the screw that holds the stem - please see pic.

Could someone please advise me on how to do this? Thank you.

The screw in question.
Do I also have to remove this screw to enable the movement to slide out of the case?

All advice gratefully received.

You have to remove the screw to remove the stem. Then the movement should come out.
