Out of poise - discovery and fix
I was working on a restaff and poise. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why it was so far out. I even had a running watch available to compare it to and everything looked to be a perfect match to my running example.

So, I took this photo to post here for some advice. Interestingly enough, when I blew it up to about 10X... 4 timing washers jumped out at me. For the life of me, I could not see them before I took the photo.

Once I knew what I was up against, I ran all the timing screws in to seat and back out 1-1/2 turns each... then moved the washers around to find poise.

Watch came in at 18010 on the first shot with decent beat error and nominal variation in positions.

I had one once where the problem was undercuts and had to add washers.
