My book shows the part number for the fourth wheel and pinion from a Hamilton 992 to be 361 (gold), or 362 (brass). It also shows the number for 974 as a part 363. My question: Is there a difference other than part number between a fourth wheel and pinion in a 974 and 992?
I am looking for a 362, and I have a 363.

Mike if your old wheel is good just switch the pinion from the brass wheel over too the gold wheel ..The parts number for the brass and gold wheel is dirrerent but the pinion is the same..The pinion is a press fit and easy too change.
So, if I understand, you are saying the wheel is different on the 363, but the pinion is the same. I could use a 974 pinion for the 992 4th wheel 361, or 362. Is that correct Samie?

Mike, when Samie gets through answering these questions, just let me know if you still need the 4th wheel. I was going to mail it to you plus a second hand this morning.

Mike yes the pinion on the 361 and 362 are the same,,the different parts numbers 361 and 362 let Hamilton know if you wanted a gold wheel or brass wheel.
