Case cleaning method
What methods do you use to clean an old silver watch case?
Does anyone use a 4" buffing wheel?

Thanks

Edward,

I use the same type products that are used on fine silver, they are readily available in most food stores. Then I polish by hand, this is all individual preference, but for me hand polishing is easier to control and I am better pleased with the results.

Let's see what others say!

I clean coin silver with Brasso and/or "Aluminum Doctor" polish. Sterling silver I use Hagerty Silver foam cleaner. ALWAYS by HAND.

I also WASH OUT the residues from the cases.

Some of the older silver watches you see for sale on e-bay shine like a new quarter. I do not believe they were done by hand. My bet would be a polishing wheel. I thought I would query folks here and see what their thoughts on the subject were.

Thanks
