Is there a way to polish a pivot on a balance wheel with out removing hairspring or other related parts?
I saw in a book one time a tool made for this but wondered about another way to do this.

Kevin,
Probably the best way is to use a Blance Chuck, which allows you to polish the piviots without removing the hairspring.

Wayne and Kevin,

I recently used one of these to reduce the pivots on a staff. They work great and protect the balance wheel. The best part is not having to remove the hairspring or roller!
