NY size 18, movement 165 parts wanted-repair suggestions "Click" to Login or Register
posted
Anyone have any old New York Standard stuff laying around?

Mine is in need of some serious repair and I'd think for once- a parts movement may make sense. Balance staff is soldered on- looks like someone repivoted one end-crude and then to increase end shake-there is a huge gouge on the back of balance cock.
Anyone ever deal with a silver soldered staff before? Should I cut the rivet or whole staff and then attempt repivoting? Can it be driven out with a staking set or is heat in order with the soldering...????
