New England Watch: "Alden" "Click" to Login or Register
posted
I recently purchased a New England Watch Co. watch.
It is a model "ALDEN", "B".
This watch has some interesting features.
First the safety finger is on the opposite side of the roller table. And the safety roller is a wide heavy cylinder.
This arrangement made for a difficult reassembly after cleaning.
The other strange part is the way it sets.
One of the links of the setting/winding assembly is broken so I am surmising here. See picture.
I am guessing but it looks like the stem is depressed and HELD DOWN while setting the hands.
There is a setting spring that was missing when I received the watch.
Replacing that spring may be easier, so I am looking for a replacement for the broken link.
Any help?
