Looking for an Elgin Staff Grade 574
Can anyone tell me how to find the correct part No. for an Elgin 16s 17j Grade 574 Balance Staff.
Looked in both Bestfit catalogues, Rhonda Staffs, Swigart but no mention of the grade. What am I doing wrong. Where should I be looking?

Help, Mike

Hi Mike,
All the data I have does not mention a staff for this Watch.
Just says it is a Model 20 Grade 574.
No details, but you had that already.

Yes Mel that's what I already have but any idea what reference books or catalogues will give the staff no.

Hi Mike,
I just took another look in my bin of unconnected inventory.
And aha found my reference to 16s #6167 staffs, used in 572, 573, 574, 575, 576.
Do not have many left.
Do not know where I got the original info from,
but I am usually reliable(?).

Mike,

The chart in my 1953 Swigart parts book shows the same as Mel's info.

You can also use www.elginwatchparts.com to get Elgin info. It also comes up with the 6167 staff.

Thanks Steve and Mel.
I checked Swigarts again and did find the balance staff.
It's listed as Staff and not Balance Staff.
I'll now try to get one.
Thanks a lot for your input.
