Waltham model 92 staff Q "Click" to Login or Register
posted
Does anyone know which grades of model 92s used balance staff 1703 (short) and which ones used 1703A (long)? I kinda found out the hard way that there were two versions of these staffs.

Mike,
1703 is for a single roller and 1703-A is for a double roller.

Thanks Brian, that makes perfect sense. Is there an actual difference in entire length of these two staffs?

Mike,

Here ya go:

1703 - 5.70 mm long with a .70mm hub and pivot sizes 11 & 12mm.

1703A - 6.00 mm long with a 1.00mm hub and pivot sizes 10, 11 & 12.

All other dimensions are the same for both staffs.
