male stems
The watches i mentioned in a earlier thread have male winding stems.
Do they require a special case or can they without too much trouble be converted into a female and go into a regular case?

Kevin,

These older 6s lever set movements require a case that has a female sleeve threaded to the crown. A set screw in the pendant mates with a groove in the sleeve to hold it in position. I have heard that you can use a winding arbor from an early Elgin 0s movement to convert it. These early 0s movements are getting hard to find though. You would then need to file the 6s square of the new case stem to fit the 0s arbor.
