Most crown wheels are left hand thread. I just want to confirm that the Hamilton 992B crown wheel is also a left hand thread screw (turn right to loosen).

HOLD ON ROGER! ![]() I believe you will find every screw in the 992B and other watches related to it like 950B, 2974B, 3992B and 4992B are "right-hand-thread" meaning clockwise to tighten and anti-clockwise to loosen the screws. Quite a change from previous movements! That along with other information is included in the Hamilton Technical Bulletin on these watches... http://library.ihc185.com/cata...1946TECHBULLETIN.pdf You can print your own copy if you like! That is a small part of available materials you support with IHC185 Membership. Hamilton Movement Numbers and Hamilton Horology Reference Materials Lindell ![]()

Thank You Lindell...both for the post and the phone call! I'm glad I asked before I did any damage.
