The case, hands & dial look correct for a post-production 4C-prefix 992B assembled by Hamilton in 1970. I can't make out the whole movement number in the photos, if you can tell me what it is, I'll add it to the "thought to be credible" post-production database.

Best Regards,

Ed

This was one of 8 watches I bought today. Jon Hart was with me. 4C146028

A 950B, 21 Jewel 60 hour with a variant dial, 992B, 571 B W Raymond, 992, and a 17 Jewel Illinois.

And almost forgot about a Waltham Ball.

OK, 4C146028 has been added to the post-production database. The Case 17 #P621749 it's in fits in the upper range of Case 17 numbers among the thought-to-be-credible examples.

Best Regards,

Ed

It's an interesting and possibly useful bit of info, but it's also disturbing to see a two or three star watch in this condition at the point of being scrapped for about 10% of it's true value. That just goes to show how indiscriminate some of the gold scrapping operations have become, throwing out the baby with the bath water as it were. Roll Eyes

Best Regards,

Ed
