The case, hands & dial look correct for a post-production 4C-prefix 992B assembled by Hamilton in 1970. I can't make out the whole movement number in the photos, if you can tell me what it is, I'll add it to the "thought to be credible" post-production database.

OK, 4C146028 has been added to the post-production database. The Case 17 #P621749 it's in fits in the upper range of Case 17 numbers among the thought-to-be-credible examples.

It's an interesting and possibly useful bit of info, but it's also disturbing to see a two or three star watch in this condition at the point of being scrapped for about 10% of it's true value. That just goes to show how indiscriminate some of the gold scrapping operations have become, throwing out the baby with the bath water as it were.
