Hi

I have an private label Agassiz pocket watch that I had a few questions about the dial.

One is what is the base metal of the dials, this dial the numbers etc. appear to be engraved into the metal & appear gold in color, are the dials plated with gold on the face?

Second, the bottom of the dial is stamped Steiger & then a set of numbers. Was steiger a company? What do the numbers represent?

Last is there a method to cleaning the dial or should I just leave well enough alone.

Thanks for putting up with a new members questions.

Tom
