Old 1820's Breguet & Fils signed Repeater working Pocket Watch [Open Face, no hairlines, chips, or cracks!]. Wind opening on face at 2 o'clock position. The bow has been replaced, and the dust cover is missing. I think the case is gold filled or brass. [Moon hands, Key Wind, Key Set]. Case diameter 55mm, Thickness 22mm. Good hinged glass crystal at 9 o'clock with circular flatten center undamaged. Case has flowery scroll work on back and very minor brassing around edges. Pendant push/pull activated repeater.

Welcome Aboard Jim!

That's a very beautiful movement and very rare. Cool Often the case Hallmarks and any other markings are important factors on value, sounds like the case on this one is not in the greatest condition. However, putting another image of the dial and other details in this topic might be helpful. Here are some instructions...

Welcome Jim,

Rare is the word for watches like that one.

There are others that know the values on these unusual older watches better than I do. A good start would be to consult information beginning on page 478-482 of the Complete Guide to Watches.

If you do not have a copy of the watch guide it is available along with IHC185 Membership at Join and Support Internet Horology Club 185 which is found at the top of this page.

Welcome Jim, regarding scarcity and value of this beauty, you might enquire directly to our member Chris Abell who lists his phone# in the services section. I attach below an excerpt from David Landis' "Revolution in Time" explaining the genius of Breguet and the demand that caused his shop to build many different grades, while he himself apparently suypervised about 5,000 of his own movements. While Chris is the final say, I would not be surprised that with this being a repeater it is a true Breguet.

Thanks All for the information! Smile I'll try Lindell's suggestion on compressing more photos in the near future and maybe contact Chris Abell via phone. Again Thanks for your advice and counsel! Jim
