Would like info about a longines pocket watch. It was produced for t& e Dickinson & co with serial number 3414269. The case is open face and 14k solid. The case numbers are identical to movement numbers. I think made around 1916. It is 17 jewelsand adjusted to 5 positions. Is there a model number and is it unusual to have matching numbers?

Your watch made it's way cross the ocean back in 1916 as you already found out. This is an estimate based on production numbers and should be correct +- 2 years. For some european watches it is not unusual to have the same numbers on case and movement (if so it is a prove of authenticity).
It is likely that the movement caliber number is visible on the upper side of the dial plate under the balance rim.
Your watch was sold to the retailer/importer Thomas & Elizabeth Dickinson; Buffalo NY, Buffalo's leading jewelry establishment.(don't know when they had the 'Co' in their name).
There is no online database for Longines watches; you may contact Longines and they could tell you the exact year of production.
