Diameter is 38-39mm without the crown and about 41mm with it, case is gold. It should have been bought around 1955.

P.S.: it was my father's watch but I've never seen another V&C like this one.

you will have to show us the movement to find the model and year by serial#
but looks to be 1940's production 17/18 jewels
very nice and very collectible watch and most likely it
will be in 14 or 18 K gold case look for halmarks
on inside of the case.
