Tom BruntonHi Tom; I'm not the last word on this type of watch but I believe it to be a "Swiss Fake" or private label made up to someone's order.

The wording on the regulator would be Fast-Slow or something similar if it was really an American made watch,I firmly believe

Following is a link to a catalogue of the watches of the real Boston Watch Company and I see no examples in it like yours

Of course that is not to say it's impossible

Tom Bruntonhi again Tom; the watch is all old. It is all original as near as I can tell. It is about 110 years old!! It was NOT made between 1853-1857 by the Boston Watch Company !!!!

Rather it was a Swiss watch, designed and named to look and sound American!!!

Generically these are known as "Swiss Fakes",and they tended to be of lower quality construction than the fine swiss watches being made at the same time, but they are old for sure, but designed and made and named to help sell them in America.
